As opening days for MLB teams all over the country kicked off, we had the opportunity to contribute to the Cleveland Guardian’s. Spark Ops was tasked with the design and construction of a custom truss system specifically engineered for broadcasting purposes.
Our fabrication process began with precise fiber laser cutting to form the desired shapes and dimensions for each component. Next, the metal was carefully bent to form the client’s desired curves and angles, ensuring all components aligned perfectly so we could successfully build the structure.
When making our truss components, it’s critical the faces and edges are squared up so everything is flush. This not only protects the structural integrity, it increases quality while adding to the overall look at the same time.
Once the individual components were shaped, our welding team fused the components together. We finished by applying all finishing touches to enhance the appearance and durability of the final product.
The result was a custom-designed truss system with a modified pattern that met the structural requirements of the client and incorporated the Cleveland Guardians "C" logo into the exposed metal framework. Upon completion, our crew traveled to Cleveland to carry out the on-site installation.
